13th Annual Twilight on the Terrace - A fundraising event to benefit The PRIDE Center of Maryland!

Twilight on the Terrace is a Baltimore Pride tradition. Each year the event provides attendees with a spectacular night of food, fun, and socialization to mark the commencement of Baltimore Pride weekend.

As the largest fundraiser for The Pride Center of Maryland, Twilight on the Terrace helps support more than 40 community programs that reach the more than 800 sexual and gender minorities who utilize the center each month.

This year’s Pride theme, “Unity through Diversity: The Remix,” signifies the transformation of fears into empowerment while embracing community as we fight for justice and dignity to live authentically. Your attendance and the proceeds from this event ensure that The PRIDE Center of Maryland can continue to provide programs and services to the sexual and gender minority community in Baltimore and the Greater Maryland region.

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction to bid on several Am Fund sponsored vacation packages. We hope to see you there, it's time to show your PRIDE!

Christian Sands Trio at the BMA

After a stunning performance last season, Christian Sands is back in Baltimore by popular demand! Though not yet 30, Sands is one of the most in-demand pianists in jazz. In the last few years he has toured around the world as a bandleader and recently appeared as a sideman on records by Christian McBride and Gregory Porter. Sands takes a fresh look at the entire language of jazz: stride, swing, bebop, progressive, fusion, Brazilian and Afro-Cuban.  DownBeat  describes Sands as “an imaginative composer, a clever arranger and a skillful technician with a fluid style.” See what all the fuss last year was about and come here this thrilling pianist and performer.

Chesapeake Cuisine: Nourishing a Healthy Bay

John Shields will be presenting at the Smithsonian in the S. Dillon Ripley Center, at 1100 Jefferson Dr SW (Metro: Smithsonian - Mall exit) in Washington, D.C. He’ll be explaining how championing sustainability, local seasonal ingredients, regional farmers and food artisans, and making seafood, meat, and agricultural product choices that are non-harmful to the environment can bolster ongoing efforts to protect the Bay. He’ll also share some stories that celebrate Chesapeake Bay cuisine and our communal love of the region. He’s bringing along some treats to sample too! Broom’s Bloom Cheddar and Sausage Potato Puffs “ and his own specialty, ”Old Bay Peanut Brittle”—both recipes in The New Chesapeake Kitchen.

Copies of The New Chesapeake Kitchen will be available for sale and signing. Tickets are on sale here.
